The Brazilian Journal of Empirical Legal Studies is a scientific journal linked to the Network of Empirical Legal Studies and devoted to fostering and circulating the production of empirical research from the most diverse areas of knowledge, as long as they dialogue directly with the legal field. We believe that the consolidation and dissemination of transdisciplinary empirical research is a way to contribute to a more qualified understanding of the legal phenomenon and constitute an important element of social transformation.
It welcomes contributions from different subjects and methodological perspectives, as long as they fit the journal's purpose. Papers, translations, reviews and interviews can be submitted in the continuous publishing model. Two centuries after the establishment of the first law schools in Brazil, the Revista de Estudos Empíricos em Direito (REED) announces the call for papers for the special issue “Two Hundred Years of Law Schools in Brazil: Empirical Research and Critical Perspectives on Legal Education,” with submissions open from September 11 to October 30, 2026.

A Revista de Estudos Empíricos em Direito (REED) (ISSN 2319-0817), vinculada à Rede de Estudos Empíricos em Direito, tem por missão fomentar uma cultura de pesquisa empírica no universo do direito. Trata-se de uma revista acadêmica que objetiva, por meio da publicação de pesquisas empíricas e de reflexões teóricas sobre pesquisa, contribuir para uma maior abertura da academia jurídica à produção de diversas disciplinas que se debruçam sobre algum aspecto do direito. A REED aceita trabalhos de diferentes disciplinas e perspectivas metodológicas, desde que se enquadrem em sua linha editorial, que tem o foco na pesquisa empírica em direito.
